Ingredients

  • 500 g Minced beef
  • 80 g Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 2 cans Chopped tomatoes
  • 200 g Mozzarella
  • 4 Sub rolls
  • 50 g Parmesan

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 190°C.

    Combine minced beef, breadcrumbs, egg, parmesan and half the garlic in a bowl.

    Roll the mixture into evenly sized meatballs.

    Brown the meatballs in a frying pan until nicely coloured on all sides.

    In a saucepan, cook the remaining garlic briefly before adding chopped tomatoes.

    Simmer the tomato sauce for 15 minutes until rich and thickened.

    Add the meatballs to the sauce and cook gently until fully cooked through.

    Fill the sub rolls with meatballs and sauce before topping with mozzarella.

    Bake for 5–8 minutes until the cheese has melted and become bubbling and golden.
