Classic Southern-style crispy fried chicken served over fluffy waffles with maple syrup.

Ingredients

  • 500 g Chicken tenders
  • 200 g Plain flour
  • 2 Eggs
  • 300 ml Milk
  • 250 g Waffle mix
  • 150 ml Maple syrup
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 litre Oil

Instructions

    Prepare the waffle batter according to the package or recipe instructions and set aside while the chicken marinates briefly.

    Season the chicken tenders with paprika, salt and black pepper.

    Dip each chicken piece into flour, then egg wash, then back into flour to create a crisp coating.

    Heat oil in a deep pan to 175°C and fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and fully cooked through.

    Cook the waffles in a waffle iron until crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle.

    Place warm waffles onto serving plates and top with crispy fried chicken.

    Drizzle generously with maple syrup before serving hot.
